"Surah Al-Alaq or ""The Blood Clot"" is the ninety sixth Surah of the Holy Book of Quran. Also called the 'Ikra' or ""Read"". The titles were derived from the first and second verses of the chapter, respectively.it consists of a total of 19 verses (ayah) and the Surah is believed to have been revealed in Mecca and is also believed to be the first revelation by Prophet Muhammad, which was also in the month of Ramadan, at a cave in the mountain named Mount Jabal al Nour. The 96th Surah speaks of Supreme creator of the world and its elements that is God. The first 5 verses are for Muhammad, where he is commanded to read and recite the Quran and thus the Surah continues. While only the first part was revealed initially, it is considered that the second part was only revealed at a later point of time."
