"Irrigation is the process of artificial method of watering landscapes and fields so as to build on plant growth and production. Back in the days, irrigation used to be a thoroughly natural process, although in the so-called modern era, old practices have died out due to several different natural and new factors and practices. When the process was natural, people would build reservoirs, canals and other effective drainage systems for better production and work. Even floodwaters were used as a direct source of water; which were also stored for later use. This was the starting form of artificial or man-made irrigation. As of today, for better production, expensive dams and canals are build. The advantages today of irrigation are several. Watch the PPT to know more. "
