Did you know that one in five Americans already work from home? This means that if you know fifty people, probably ten of them work from home at least one day per week and the number is now increasing faster than ever. Work from home describes work being done remotely, instead of being done at an office. The acronym “WFH” is used as a nickname for the concept. Many organizations transitioned their employees from the office to a work from home model during the Coronavirus global pandemic. More independence, less expenses, increased productivity, improved technical skills, improved communication skills, more work flexibility, no office distractions, ability to collaborate over locations, building professional networks, more time for loved ones, grants and incentives, reduction in work absences, increased satisfaction and a work-life balance are some of the advantages of work from home. However, there are multiple challenges to working from home. Difficulty separating home and work life, the initial expense of setting up your business at home, domestic distractions and interruptions and isolation/loneliness are some of the disadvantages.
