It is assumed that Paul, the author of this letter, wrote it along with Silvanus and Timothy. After his first letter to them, he again addresses the subject of Christ's second coming as some of them had thought that He had already come, which led them to lose their enthusiasm in the good work they do. Paul was quick to clear up this misunderstanding. He also comforts them in their sufferings for the name of Christ, reminding them that it's an honour. He urges them to stand fast and warns against idleness, setting himself and his fellow workers as role models for them to follow. He also asks for their prayers. Key verse from the second book of Thessalonians: (1: 6-7) God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with powerful angels.
