This second book of Chronicles continues the history of Israel through the rule of King Solomon. It carefully describes how Solomon built the temple. This book unfolds the reign of Solomon, the son of David and the family of David. This book presents us with kingly power in connection with the earth and the government of the people on the earth. The book begins with the reign of Solomon, from the death of David, and continues the history of the kings of Judah to the captivity and concludes with the fall of the monarchy and destruction of the temple. The main three themes of the book are God's promise to David of an eternal throne, God's desire to abide in his holy temple, and God's ongoing offer of forgiveness.
