"The only three epistles of John in the Bible are relatively smaller, especially the latter two. John, a disciple of Jesus, earned a reputation as the disciple of love because of his writings on the love of God and for each other in his letters. Like most other writers, John addresses false teachings in his letter. He writes on the real love for God, not the kind that says he loves God but has none in his heart. The letter has a lot to say on truly loving God and His people. It also has many principles of christian living. Key verse from the book of John: (4:4) You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
